A shot put is a simple event in which a player hits a shot as far as possible using a putting motion. For those new to the event, there are specific rules to follow. The National High School Association is the governing body for high school track and field that sets the rules for high school track and field events. If you are a competitor or coach, you should definitely be familiar with the rules, but even parents and spectators need to have a general knowledge of the rules in order to understand the event.<\/p>\n
