This marathon was originally designed for the 50 State Club marathon runners that requested to run in two different States, during the same weekend since Bear Lake sits on the State line between Utah and Idaho. The road around the lake is just over 50 miles. Marathoner runners that participate in both marathons will be able to boast about the rare accomplishment of running around the entire Bear Lake in one weekend.

Since this time, the Idaho Marathon has continued to grow and now even Half Marathon runners have requested that we open up the race for them as well so they can run in two States. We would like to report that we have now just opened the Idaho Half Marathon that will run the last half of the marathon course.

The Marathon will start at 6:00 a.m. at Garden City Park, 350 South Bear Lake Blvd

The Half Marathon will be bused from this same location at 7:00a.m. The race will start shortly after arriving at the starting line, 13.1 miles from the park.

Packet pickup/last minute registration will happen at 5:15 am on Friday (just before the race) for the marathon runners and 6:30 a.m for the half marathon runners.

The races will finish at the Idaho State Park on the East side of the Lake. Both parks are along the main road that wraps around Bear Lake.

There will be aid stations every 3 miles with water, Gatorade, GU Energy Gel, and fruit at each aid station. There will also be Portable Restrooms at the start and each aid station.

Finishing medals and running shirts will be provided to all runners.

Official times will be posted on the web site shortly after the race.

There will be busing back to the finish line at the end of the race, but quests are welcome to pick up runners at the finish line.
